Where to Park, Enter Berkeley Medical Center During Construction
Keep up with latest instructions, helpful tips for navigating care during Patient Tower Project work
WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center continues to make steady progress on the new patient tower project, part of a historic $260 million investment to expand healthcare access in the Eastern Panhandle. This project represents a major step forward for our community, increasing hospital capacity and enhancing the overall patient and visitor experience. The new tower is expected to open in early 2028.
Throughout construction, the hospital and entire campus remains open and fully operational, continuing to provide care during this time of growth!
We advise patients, visitors, and employees to follow the following instructions for parking and campus access, and to allow extra time for arrival and to pay close attention to on-site signage and traffic flow updates. Our goal is to maintain safe access and clear guidance at every step. Please follow all posted signage on campus and ask your care team if you have any questions.
Parking Information
Construction is in full swing at WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center, but our hospital is still open and accessible. Patient and visitor parking and accessibility is our top priority during this time, which is why we have designated specific areas for parking. Please refer to the map below as a reference for where to park on campus for ease of access.

Parking for patients and visitors is available and prioritized in spaces closest to the North Entrance, Emergency Department, Dorothy A. McCormack Center, and Medical Office Buildings.

Patients and visitors may park in other areas and call our shuttle service for transport to and from the building. Call 304-350-3580 for on-demand transportation assistance.
Entrance Information
- The main entrance closed for construction in June 2026.
- Patients and visitors should access the hospital through the new North Entrance off Tavern Road, which will serve as the primary entrance for the duration of the project.
- Entrance to the Emergency Department is not impacted and remains unchanged.
- Entrance to the Dorothy A. McCormack Center is not impacted. Construction is happening at the Dorothy A. McCormack Center to install a new linear accelerator, significantly enhancing our radiation therapy services, but the reguar entrance remains open and services will continue as usual.
Shuttle Services
To increase access to the hospital and WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center campus as parking and construction changes, we've added shuttle and transport services for patients and employees. Shuttle and transportation assistance is available at any time, on-demand!
- If you need to park far away from an entrance, please call 304-350-3580 for assistance at any time.
- Shuttle routes are in place to transport WVU Medicine employees and staff from designated parking lots to work on campus in a timely manner.
- We are expanding our patient-centered shuttle services to include regular routes starting in late August 2026.
