WVU Medicine Jefferson Medical Center breaks ground on campus expansion, advancing access to care in Jefferson County

RANSON, W.VA. — WVU Medicine Jefferson Medical Center celebrated the groundbreaking of a major expansion project that will enhance access to healthcare services across Jefferson County and the Eastern Panhandle.

The transformative project represents a $60 million investment in the future of healthcare, bringing expanded outpatient services, advanced clinical capabilities, and a more patient-centered experience to the community.

The project includes construction of a new three-story ambulatory building that will house medical office space, comprehensive imaging services, and a physical therapy gym.

In addition, renovations are underway inside Jefferson Medical Center to create a new infusion and cancer care suite that will become part of the WVU Cancer Institute, bringing specialized cancer services closer to home for many patients.

The cancer center is expected to open in 2027, with the ambulatory building opening to patients in early 2028.

Project teams from Kahler Slater, Whiting-Turner, and Congleton Morris Thorpe Associates will help bring the expansion to life.
