Multiple Sclerosis and Other Autoimmune Neurological Disorders
Innovative treatments and caring physicians.
What We Do
The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Neuroimmunology Clinic specializes in:
- Diagnosis of multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune diseases affecting the brain and spine, including neuromyelitis optica, neurosarcoidosis, and MOG antibody disease
- Treatment with disease-modifying therapies to prevent new inflammation, new attacks, and new MRI lesions
- Comprehensive evaluation and treatment of the day-to-day symptoms caused by these diseases
About Our Clinic
Multiple sclerosis is the leading cause of non-traumatic neurologic disability in young adults. However, many people diagnosed with MS now do very well in the long term because of significant advances in MS treatments in recent years. Early diagnosis is key to preserving function in people with MS.
In our clinic, we provide comprehensive evaluations to accurately diagnose multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune diseases of the central nervous system. We tailor our treatment plan according to every patient’s specific needs and focus not only on preventing new problems with longer-term treatments, but also on treating symptoms so that each person can live their best lives on a day-to-day basis. We also participate in multiple research trials and are certified by the National MS Society as a Comprehensive MS Care Center.
There are many other autoimmune diseases that can attack the brain and spinal cord, and we also focus on accurate diagnosis and treatment of these myriad of disorders.
