WVU Medicine celebrates opening of new Behavioral Medicine clinic in Martinsburg

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — WVU Medicine has opened a new location for WVU Medicine Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry services at 208/198 Viking Way, Martinsburg, consolidating multiple behavioral health services into one centralized setting to expand access to care for patients and families across the Eastern Panhandle.

The Viking Way site brings together three Berkeley County–based WVU Medicine Behavioral Medicine clinics, offering adult and pediatric psychology, psychiatry, addiction services, and additional behavioral health care in a single, patient-focused facility. Services previously located on the campus of WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center and at the WVU Medicine Crisis Support and Recovery Center, 415 Wilson St., have transitioned to the new location.

“The relocation of these services underscores our ongoing commitment to expanding access to high-quality behavioral health care while reducing barriers for the patients we serve,” said Alex Johnson, associate vice president of ambulatory operations for WVU Hospitals East. “By bringing multiple services together in one convenient location, we are improving care coordination and making it easier for patients who may see multiple providers to receive comprehensive care in a single setting.”

The move is expected to enhance collaboration among care teams, streamline services and better address the growing behavioral health needs of the Eastern Panhandle community.

“This new location strengthens our ability to meet patients where they are, now and in the future,” Johnson said. “It positions our program for continued growth while ensuring we remain focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to the communities we serve.”
