“This year’s event raised over $26,000 to support the Friends of WVU Hospitals’ mission of promoting healthcare in our community,” Kimberly Hartsell, director of WVUH Volunteer Services and WVU Hospitals’ Friends Gift Shop, said.
“So far in 2025, Friends of WVU Hospitals has contributed more than $50,000 to programs that directly impact patients and families – from patient activity carts and e-cards to Children’s Hospital Welcome Baby Bags and more. The golf tournament plays a vital role in funding these efforts. We are grateful to the sponsors, golfers, and volunteers who made this year’s event such a success.”
Tournament participation has grown steadily since its launch in 2022, expanding from 20 teams in its first year to 27 teams this year.
“Our tournament continues to be praised for its professionalism, organization, and overall experience,” Pamela Mayo, Friends president, said. “We are deeply thankful for the loyal sponsors who have supported us from the beginning and the new partners who joined us this year. Their generosity allows us to continue our mission of supporting the patients, families, and employees of WVU Hospitals.”
