David "Andy" Clump, MD/PhD

Chair, Department of Radiation Oncology, WVU School of Medicine Physician-in-Chief, Radiation Oncology, WVU Cancer Institute

Andy Clump, MD/PhD, who grew up in Doddridge County, West Virginia, serves as the chair of the WVU School of Medicine Department of Radiation Oncology, as well as physician-in-chief of Radiation Oncology at the WVU Cancer Institute.

Dr. Clump came to WVU Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, where he served as medical director at the Mary Hillman Jennings Department of Radiation Oncology at Shadyside Hospital.

Dr. Clump earned his undergraduate degree from WVU in 2001, and his MD and PhD degrees with a research focus on immunology and microbial pathogenesis from WVU in 2008. He completed his radiation oncology residency at UPMC in 2013 and remained on faculty there, where his primary clinical focus was the treatment of malignancies of the aerodigestive tract and the utilization of advanced technologies, including stereotactic approaches.

Dr. Clump is a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology and American Board of Radiology. He is also a contributing investigator to the NRG Oncology Head and Neck Group and RTOG Foundation.
