Event Location: Star City Park and Marina, Morgantown, WV
The 2018 Morgantown Polar Plunge, which supports the West Virginia Special Olympics, is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, at Star City Park and Marina. WVU Medicine is a sponsor.
Participants who register for the event will collect donations from family and friends in the weeks leading up to the event. At the event, they'll plunge into the Monongahela River. Many will be dressed in creative costumes.
Visit the Polar Plunge website for more complete details and registration information.
The West Virginia Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for thousands of West Virginia children and adults with developmental disabilities.
While many kids will be hoping that Santa will leave a high tech gift of some sort under their Christmas trees, one little boy in Wellersburg, Pa., will be celebrating the holidays with his family thanks to a 3D model of his heart that was printed to help doctors at WVU Medicine Children’s determine the best approach to treat him.
