Little General Stores, Inc. is once again showing support for the WVU Cancer Institute. Greg Darby And Corey Beasley recently presented WVU Men's Basketball Coach Bob Huggins a $27,500 check to benefit the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment at the WVU Cancer Institute. This endowment supports clinical trials for West Virginia cancer patients.
Avid WVU supporters, Don Hoylman and his late wife Marcella, are giving back with a transformational leadership donation through a trust. The amount of the gift is not being made public at this time at the donor’s request. The substantial gift will be split evenly between the College of Business and Economics and the WVU Cancer Institute.
WVU women’s basketball players and their fans are helping the WVU Cancer Institute in the fight against breast cancer. At the annual Play4Kay game against Oklahoma on Feb. 17 at the WVU Coliseum, the Mountaineers wore their pink to raise breast cancer awareness and offered fans chances to win various prizes during the chuck-a-duck promotion. It was a flurry of activity at the Cancer Institute table where fans purchased the pink ducks and made donations to receive official pink Mountaineer T-shirts, raising $2,300 for the Betty Puskar Breast Care Center.
