All WVU Medicine and WVU Health Sciences faculty and staff on the Morgantown campus are invited to celebrate the holidays Tuesday, Dec. 12, from 2-4 p.m. at the Market@WVU, located on the ground floor of the WVU Health Sciences Center. (A separate event for night-shift employees is set for Thursday, Dec. 14, from 1-3 a.m. in the Ruby Cafeteria.)
Catering for both events will be provided by WVU Medicine Catering and Fresh Hospitality.
All are encouraged to attend these events; no take-out will be available.
WVU remembers former internationally renowned cardiothoracic surgeon and chair of the Department of Surgery
Gordon F. Murray, M.D., joined the West Virginia University School of Medicine in 1985 as division chief of cardiothoracic surgery and rose to lead the Department of Surgery as chair from 1987 to 1998. After a prolonged illness, he passed away with his family at his side on May 21, 2018.
Dr. Peter Ngan, Professor and Chair of the WVU School of Dentistry Orthodontics Department, was appointed Honorary Professor in the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Hong Kong.
WVU and the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties invites the public to their 14th annual Blue & Gold Mine Sale at the East Concourse of the Milan Puskar Stadium (May 12) from 7 a.m. to noon. All proceeds from this large rummage sale will benefit United Way. The early bird admission is $5 (7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.) and free admission will begin at 8:30 a.m. Shoppers will have the option of purchasing a custom reusable bag to fit as many items as the bag will hold for one flat rate of $20.
